Greetings Brothers  & Sisters,


By now you know that the new contract with ExxonMobil Refinery has been ratified.  This gives you a three year window to get ready for the next time.  Although the membership is not always happy with parts of the agreement you need to understand that our committee worked very hard to get the best contract they could.  Theirs is often a thankless job and in fact the tension and pressures sometimes boil to the top, I am very proud of the people I have served with and think the rank and file should thank them for their efforts.  The times were stressful for all, but those who stepped forward to lead our union took on the weight of the responsibility to protect the best interest of our members.  I thank them, and so should you.

Pet's Mother passed away Monday, April 16, 2012. A gathering will be at Broussard's, 2000 Mcfaddin Ave, Beaumont on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 5 pm until 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial wil be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9894 Gilbert Road, Fannett, on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10 AM with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Broussad's, Beaumont.

American Valve & Hydrant has come to a tentative agreement on a new pension plan.  Ratification vote date to be announced.

After three meetings, each having a full crowd, Local 13-243 and ExxonMobil have a new contract.  The members have voted to accept the proposed contract by overwelming majority.  Thank you to everyone for the very large member turnout.

USW Local 13-243 and ExxonMobil Beaumont Refinery has officially reached a tentative agreement on Local and National Issues.   This agreement will be put before the membership to ratify on Tuesday, February 7th, 2012 at the following times:

6:30 a.m.
3:00 p.m.
6:30 p.m.

All members are encouraged to come out and vote.  Members ONLY please.  No children, spouses or significant others.

USW Local 13-243 has sent ExxonMobil's last offer to the International for approval.  Once approved the membership will be notified of the times for the Ratification Vote.  Continue to report to work as scheduled under the rolling 24-hour extension.
